Big Ben

Big Ben is a thirteen-ton bell ! However, when people refer to Big Ben they normally mean the beautiful ornate clock tower that is part of the Houses of Parliament . This tower contains the Big Ben bell. A light in the clock tower signifies that the House of Commons ( the British Parliament ) is in session . It is named after the original Commissioner of Works, Benjamin Hall
